All ISO accreditations follow the same process:

Step 1:Gap Review

An ISO QA Consultant will visit your business to review and document your current processes and procedures, highlighting any areas that do not meet the requirements of the Standard.

Step 2:Implementation

Now it’s time to make sure any required process or procedural changes are made, as highlighted in the Gap Review. ISO QA will work with you every step of the way to make these changes.

Step 3:Certification

An Auditor visits your business to check that the documented processes are being followed and that the necessary changes have been made. Once they are satisfied, you will be awarded your certification.

With 30+ years’ experience in ISO standards, company director Kevin is well-versed in every facet of ISO QA’s unique offering. As an ISO lead auditor and GDPR practitioner, Kevin is an experienced auditor in many sectors, including eGaming, financial and professional services, manufacturing, and IT services.

Kevin ensures that ISO QA provides an industry-leading standard to each client, and his international experience is fundamental to the success of ISO QA’s multi-jurisdictional operations.

Gemma is ISO QA’s auditor of ISO 27001, 9001, 14001 and 45001, starting with us in April 2013. She holds a BSI Diploma in Quality Management Systems and has vast experience across several sectors, including sales and account management and food safety management.

Gemma enjoys meeting people from different industries, learning how they work, and applying ISO management principles to fit with various systems.

Matthew Brewster,

Matthew joined the ISO QA team in September 2021 following previous experience as a business analyst, and a technical support specialist within software companies. He holds several qualifications, including BSc (Hons) in applied biology and BCS certificates in business analysis practice, requirements engineering, and modelling business processes.

Upon joining the team, Matthew has worked closely with clients to ensure their road to ISO certification is as smooth as possible and enjoys the variety of work that comes with our interesting and varied client base.

Earning ISO 9001 certification is a daunting challenge – we had been trying to settle on the best way to go about it for over a year. But we found the year long project much more straightforward because of the invaluable help we received from ISO QA Isle of Man. As a business Panacea are quality driven, working to contractual agreements with Clients in the pharmaceutical industry. ISO certification is something we request from our vendors and contractors, so it makes good business sense to hold this certification ourselves.

The ISO process is initially quite daunting, so we approached ISO QA for a Gap Analysis and to gain a better understanding of what was ahead of us. We commissioned ISO QA to design and implement ISO 14001 and to include our London operation. This included a comprehensive energy audit and both were funded through the BSS.

During the energy audit, ISO QA carried out renewable testing for wind and solar which enabled us to identify costs and savings for investments at our offices at Global House.

The office air conditioning units were a key area where energy was being lost, caused by the sun through nearby windows. By applying solar reducing film to the glazing, we were not only able to significantly drop our energy consumption, but also improve staff comfort.

Having considered improving our environmental impact, I contacted ISO QA to understand the processes involved. Following a gap analysis which revealed a number of issues regarding chemical and solid waste, we worked together to implement ISO 14001 over a 12 month period. Accreditation was achieved first time and it has since helped us to understand our carbon footprint and the ways in which it can be reduced.

I’m thrilled to say this has not only allowed us to reduce our energy bill, but also helped us to gain further business from clients who demand a green approach from their suppliers.

As part of the continuous improvement plan, we’ve also installed Energy Eye and are investing in recovering waste heat from our production processes.

Eighteen months ago, we identified at Mannin a requirement for change, and we decided that those changes were going to be centred around our accreditation for ISO 9001 for Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental Awareness.

There are UK based organisations that guide companies through these accreditation processes, but we decided, after speaking to Kevin and Gemma at ISO QA IOM, to retain them.

The ISO processes, which were implemented by Kevin, were designed to work with our current production system and although the process of adopting ISO procedures was in some instances, hard to get to grips with, nothing was so difficult it couldn’t be done.

As Chief Executive at Mannin, I have to make decisions all the time about a huge number of different things. Implementing ISO procedures was one of the best decisions we have made, and appointing ISO QA IOM to implement the procedures was a brilliant choice.

During the summer of 2016 Office World Limited embarked on a project to attain ISO 9001:2015 accreditation not only to enhance our client service and satisfaction levels but also ensure a best practice structure throughout all facets of our business.

It was immediately apparent that we required specialist professional advice to implement this project efficiently. To that end we engaged local Manx Company ISO QA Isle of Man Limited as our professional partners to formulate both an action plan and devise implementation strategies to ensure our objectives were accomplished in a focused and structured manner.

Their extremely knowledgeable and dedicated personnel worked very closely with us on site, first acquiring an in depth understanding of our Company, our systems and procedures with particular regard to the way we interfaced with our end user clients and equally as importantly, our suppliers, leaving no stone unturned. Once this exercise had been completed and documented in precise detail, we initiated an agreed comprehensive formal programme of improvement process which after our final on-site audit by the independent World Certification Services inspector on 17th November 2016 culminated with full accreditation to the standard, our original objective successfully achieved.

This achievement was not only as a result of our own staff endeavours but also in no small measure to those of ISO QA Isle of Man Limited personnel who initially precisely assessed the undertaking then meticulously mapped our course from start right the way through to the successful conclusion.

I was concerned about the energy costs for our unstaffed disaster recovery site and contacted ISO QA for advice. They reviewed this site and our main office in Douglas by carrying out an energy audit funded by the BSS. This identified up to a massive 35% total savings and prioritised the short, medium and long term including pay back on investment.

With the help of the MEA, they were able to set up Energy Eye in both locations, allowing me to remotely monitor both sites to target reductions.

ISO QA has also identified the potential for renewables for our Douglas offices and has set up wind and solar testing over the next 12 months.

I’m delighted with the results to date and am now looking to invest further into greener operations, including implementing ISO 14001.
